Please help on Sour Salt Question

have a bottle from years ago of rock salt (sour salt). Is it still good? Also, the pieces of rock are small. Now sour salt comes in ground form. I used to use about 3-4 small rocks for stuffed cabbage salt. Would that equal about 1 tsp?
