YUM!! Milk cuts the heat in chilis--I once did the same -- my chili was so hot it was peeling the wallpaper from the wall!! (Just kidding!) I fixed it by whisking in some heavy cream or sour cream, with the heat on low, just enough to cut the heat. It will be creamier, but the heat will be lessened. When you reheat it, do so under low heat. You can also serve it with a dollop of sour cream (which would work well with your recipe), but make sure everyone stirs it in before eating.
