Hi Sarah, I have an allergy to sulfites, so hence I cannot use Baking Powder due to the corn starch. I found substitutes which include the use of tartic acid (Cream of Tartar), but that too is a sulfite product from barrels of wine (or so I heard). What other substitutes are there? If you can provide me with a few -- I can see if they might work for me (determine if they are sulfites or not). I would be so thrilled. At present, I cannot seem to find a cake I can bake without it! Best, Renee renee@pitnet.net
